The Colors

Acrylic Paints I Use – The Heart of My Stone Art

When I sit down with a sea stone in my hands, I don’t just see a surface to paint on—I see a story waiting to be revealed. The paints I choose are an essential part of that story, and over time, I’ve found a few brands that truly feel like an extension of my creative spirit.

My absolute favorites are DecoArt and Amsterdam. These paints have never let me down. The pigmentation is rich, vibrant, and alive—exactly what I need to bring my stones to life. Whether I’m painting delicate mandalas, glowing eyes, or tiny detailed patterns, I can trust the colors to stay bold and expressive. They glide smoothly over the natural texture of the stone, allowing me to work with precision while still feeling free and intuitive.

I also love working with El Greco, Pentart, and FolkArt paints. Each of them brings something unique to my process. Some offer beautiful matte finishes, others give me that perfect opacity for layering, and some are just ideal for those tiny details that make each stone special. I often combine different brands in a single piece, choosing each color carefully depending on the feeling I want to create.

Working on sea stones is very different from painting on canvas. The surface is natural, sometimes uneven, sometimes perfectly smooth, shaped by the sea over many years. Because of that, I need paints that are reliable, adaptable, and strong enough to hold their beauty on this unique surface. These brands allow me to build layers, add depth, and create luminous effects that last.

But beyond quality, there is also emotion. I truly love these paints. They are part of my daily ritual—opening the bottles, choosing colors intuitively, watching how they come alive on the stone. Every finished piece carries not just the image I’ve painted, but also the energy of the materials I used.

Below, I’m sharing some photos of the paints I work with, so you can see exactly what I use in my creative process. These are the tools behind each stone you see in my collection.
